Whether participating in an acting-driven scene or a choreographically focused musical number, they bring realism, heart, and sharp comedic timing to every role. With over a decade of experience as a performer, Eric is proud to continue the lifelong journey of practicing his artistry.
The Journey
Born on December 13, Eric carries the fierce, loving, and optimistic qualities of his Sagittarius sun sign. Growing up in Milnor, North Dakota—a small town known primarily for its devoted farming community—he learned to dream at a very young age. Inspired by icons like Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Selena, he began visualizing a future in the arts. At fourteen, Eric took his first major leap of initiative: hand-delivering a self-written letter of recommendation to the director of his high school’s One Act Play team. That moment marked the true beginning of his artistic path.
While devoting his fall seasons to One Act Play, Eric developed the foundational tools that transitioned perfectly into the National Speech & Debate Association (NSDA) circuit. After placing 7th in Humorous Interpretation, he felt truly seen for the first time. The following year, being recognized as the third most humorous speaker in North Dakota (2016) provided the confirmation he needed: there was a future for him in live performance.
In 2017, Eric was recognized as a Superior Actor for his portrayal of the Lion in The Wizard of Oz at the regional level and went on to earn 1st place in Humorous Interpretation and 4th place in Dramatic Interpretation at the State level. His momentum continued through 2018, where he became a National Qualifier in Humorous Interpretation a National Semi-Finalist in Prose.
A turning point came in the fall of 2018 when Eric was cast as Josh in William Mastrosimone’s Bang Bang You’re Dead. Collaborating closely with director Lynn Jacobson, Eric developed a deep passion and a generous work ethic. Leading the dramatic piece, he helped Milnor Public School take 1st place at Regionals and 2nd at State, earning a "Superior Performer" individual honor. Eager to turn pro, Eric took the ambitious step of graduating high school a year early, finishing his senior season of speech with two State Championships in Prose and Dramatic Interpretation.
Evolution & Professional Debut
Eric’s success led him to the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) BFA Acting program as a recipient of the competitive "New Talent Scholarship." During his time in Duluth, he expanded his world, developing a love for nature, interior design, and yoga. Though the 2020 pandemic shifted his training online, his artistic outlook was forever reimagined in the summer of 2021 when he was cast as Terpsichore in the Duluth Playhouse’s production of Xanadu. The experience left an everlasting imprint on his heart, reminding him that his professional dreams were well within reach.
In the spring of 2022, Eric took a leap of faith and relocated to Minneapolis after being scouted by the Artistic Director of Lyric Arts. He made his Twin Cities debut in Smokey Joe’s Cafe, where he found a vibrant, supportive community of mentors and friends. After a stint working as a phlebotomist, Eric was discovered by the late, incomparable, Michael Brindisi of the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres.
Eric looks back on his two seasons with CDT with immense gratitude. The experience of performing eight shows a week for six-month+ runs helped him develop the stamina and work ethic required for a lifelong career in the theatre. Eager to tell the next story, Eric welcomes you to join him on his journey.
